We are delighted that the government will be providing support for families who usually receive free school meals over the summer holiday. However, we know that some will struggle to provide treats and entertainment during the holiday, especially those who have had their income impacted by coronavirus.
The foodbank is planning to issue additional food bags to families over the summer to help keep children entertained. The bags will include meal kits containing the ingredients and recipes for certain meals and also some treats like ice pops and cake mixes. This will help children get into the kitchen, support learning and having something nice to eat at the end!
To help with this we are looking for the following donations
Icepops
Cake/ cookie mixes
Pringles or crisps in a tube
Jelly
Chocolate biscuits
Puzzle and colouring books for children of primary school agage
We know that many of you have been making donations to the Andover foodbank during the pandemic – either directly to us or via your supermarkets or other collection points. We are immensely grateful to all of you for your continued support which has enabled us to carry on distributing emergency food boxes to so many people during these extremely difficult times. Thank you very much.
