Christmas update and closure

23rd December 2022

The foodbank is very grateful for the generous donations and support received from the community this Christmas.  We received amazing donations from groups, companies and schools and individuals, all keen to help those in need this Christmas.

More than 900 hampers and over 1270 gift boxes were delivered to partner agencies to be distributed in time for Christmas.  Teams from local companies, schools, guides, WI, the army and individuals helped pack hampers and gift boxes.

Whilst all this was happening the foodbank continued to make up and distribute food boxes, toiletries, cleaning materials and other products.  Requests for these items were up significantly on last year.  In addition, the foodbank has started to support those struggling with the cost of energy by providing vouchers for prepaid energy meters.

Thank you to the foodbank volunteers who worked extra sessions and carried out extra deliveries.

The foodbank is closed from 12:30pm Friday 23 December and reopens at 9:30am on Tuesday 3 January 2023.
