Tesco – our biggest collection ever!

7th December 2023

Over the four days of the Tesco National Food Collection at Andover, River Way, we collected a staggering 3.7 tonnes of food which filled 294 big green crates.  This was our most successful collection ever!
For the first time we had children from local schools helping us at the collection, and choirs singing carols.   Thank you to Andover Church of England Primary School, Endeavour Primary School, Knights Enham Junior School, and Vigo Primary School.
Rob, Elaine and Nikky and everyone at Tesco were brilliant in providing support.
We’re also grateful for the ongoing support of our own volunteers: those in the office; those who worked in the store handing out lists and collecting donations; and, our drivers who shuttled food back to our warehouse.   It was also wonderful to have 32 Regiment Royal Artillery who helped us weigh and move 150 crates of food.
Customers were incredibly generous: every tin, packet and jar makes a big difference and will help local people in need this winter.
Thank you all for making the collection such a success!
