Christmas gift boxes for local children in need 2020

22nd September 2020

We need you to help make this Christmas happy for a local child by donating a filled gift box or money. Last year we sadly saw increased demand but managed through the generosity of local people, Churches, schools and companies to distribute more than 900 boxes. A Social worker who distributed gift boxes in 2019 commented that ‘The people who have donated gifts have given some of the most vulnerable children in Hampshire the gift of waking up to presents on Christmas Day’. Given the difficulties faced by families this year we expect to receive a high number of requests for gift boxes and ask you for your support and donations.

Click here for more information and to see our leaflet, labels and lots of ideas for gifts. The key points are: all items must be NEW and unused; sweets must have a use by date on each individual packet (loose sweets or packets from multipacks without a date cannot be distributed); and, free items such as toys from restaurants and basic toiletries such as toothbrushes and soap should not be included. The foodbank distributes basic toiletries separately.
